The American Heart Hospital Journal (AHHJ)

First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Sylvan Weinberg for resuming his role as Editor in Chief for this new incarnation of The AHHJ. The journal very much embodies Dr Weinberg's foresight of the growth of the heart hospital concept, and now, as dedicated heart hospitals develop within larger healthcare institutions, the relevance of the journal seems more poignant than ever.

Under the new ownership of Touch Briefings, a London-based publisher, and in the context of the fast-evolving heart hospital field, the ultimate goal of The AHHJ is, conversely, one of continuity: to continue to endeavor to inform you, the reader, of latest practices and advances in the heart hospital domain, to project your thoughts and experiences, to provide a platform for original research, and to help disseminate best practice-all in a bi-annual journal.

It's a challenge, but under the stewardship of Dr Weinberg, and underpinned by an Editorial Board that brings a wealth of experience and expertise, it's a goal towards which we may strive with confidence.

Importantly, however, it's your contributions that will reinstate The AHHJ as an insightful and educational resource, a resource that evokes discussion, challenges current practice, and supports physicians in realising their ultimate goal: optimal delivery of cardiovascular patient care. On this note, Dr Weinberg wishes to extend an invitation to all readers who would like to submit comment or original articles, or share their valuable experiences with the journal's readership.

We hope that you find this edition of The AHHJ to be consistent with its goals.
